Why mechanical keyboards are a rabbit hole_

A cautionary tale about the endless pursuit of the perfect typing experience

It started innocently enough - a simple desire to upgrade from my laptop's built-in keyboard. Little did I know that first mechanical keyboard purchase would lead me down an endless path of switches, keycaps, and custom builds.

The deeper you go, the more you discover. From the tactile satisfaction of Holy Panda switches to the thocky sound profile of lubed Gateron Inks, each combination offers a unique typing experience. Then there's the world of custom keycaps - artisans, GMK group buys, and rare vintage sets that trade like collector's items.

As a developer, I can justify some of this obsession. A good keyboard really does make a difference when you're typing code all day. But I have to admit, there's something addictive about the endless pursuit of the perfect typing experience. Just when you think you've found it, someone posts a sound test of a new switch or board that makes you question everything.
